Ingredients

for 3 servings

  • 3 cups water (cold or room temperature)
  • ⅓ cup black sesame powder
  • ⅓ cup glutinous rice flour (or mochiko)
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  1. Place the water, black sesame powder, glutinous rice flour, sugar, and oil in a blender. Process until fully combined and smooth, about 1 minute. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the soup thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon, 5–10 minutes. For a thicker consistency, continue cooking and stirring until the desired thickness is reached, about 2 minutes.
  3. Pour evenly into serving bowls. Serve hot or warm, or refrigerate for a few hours and serve chilled.
  4. Enjoy!
